Administrative Assistant – mfMusic Studio

📍 Holly Springs, NC | 💲 $20/hour | ⏰ Part-Time, Morning Hours

We’re looking for a part-time, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant who loves children and has a passion for music and building community, to help support and grow our music programs.

About mfMusic Studio

mfMusic Studio is a family-friendly music school in Holly Springs, NC focused on piano and voice lessons.  We empower K–12 students to build confidence, independence, and strong musical skills in a warm, welcoming studio that feels like home - a place where friendships flourish, every voice is celebrated, and a lifelong love of music takes root.

Job Responsibilities

This hybrid role pairs administrative support with creative projects, completed on-site and from home.  Duties may include:

  • Marketing tasks such as managing social media posts, website updates, writing referral thank you cards, and producing the monthly newsletter

  • Support in class and event scheduling,  including make-up credit tracking, coordinating registration for special studio events and onboarding new students

  • Family communication such as responding to emails, handling schedule-change requests, and sending studio closure reminders

  • Event assistance including planning events, creating Spring Showcase slideshows, assembling student gifts, filming/editing photos and video recording student events

  • Studio operations such as preparing books and materials for new and advancing students, updating the birthday wall, and seasonal decorating

  • Internal support by attending monthly in-person staff meetings, taking minutes, and creating task lists

  • Internal support by attending weekly virtual check-ins and submitting daily report

  • Payroll and billing support by verifying teacher hours prior to payroll processing and confirming monthly family autopay charges are billed and processed accurately

  • Updating or writing new SOPs as needed for studio procedures

  • Light tech troubleshooting for student iPads, related apps and file sharing

  • Light cleaning to maintain a welcoming studio environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency

  • 2 (minimum) years of Customer Service experience

  • Reliable transportation and availability during mornings/early afternoons

  • Proficient with Apple devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone)

  • Strong skills in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)

  • Familiar with Asana

  • Minimum 40wpm Typing Speed

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient

  • Creative and hands-on with crafting projects, decorations and displays

  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision

  • Ability to adapt and problem-solve in a busy environment

  • Ability to work accurately with numbers (teacher payroll, client billing)

  • Self-driven and proactive nature

  • Passion for exceptional customer service

  • Willing to grow and aspire to becoming an Operations Manager

 (No music or teaching experience required)

Metrics (Expected Results)

  • Completed tasks and projects with a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and confidentiality

  • Ensure all tasks are completed by due dates

  • Ensure Weekly Status Update sent on Friday by 9am

Position Details

  • Compensation: $20/hour

  • Schedule: 

    • Part-time weekday morning hours, occasional weekend hours

    • Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week

    • Hours range may increase on weeks with Musician Meet-up Events and Showcases 

    • Hours vary weekly based on projects and studio needs

  • Type: 1099 Contract position for first 90 days then W-2

  • Terms: 

    • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

    • Must be willing to undergo a background check

  • Start Date: Immediate​
