This class is intended for students who enjoy singing and would like the opportunity to learn proper singing techniques and fun solo songs.

Students will learn:

• Correct Posture and Breathing Techniques
• Basics of Pure Vowel Formation and Placement
• Beginning Sight-reading Skills
• Performance Techniques
• Several Fun Songs

All will be taught in a positive and fun atmosphere using games and group activities!

The master class is a chance for students to perform a memorized piece they have been working on in their lessons and receive positive and constructive feedback from their peers.   It is also an opportunity for students to learn how to appropriately critique a performance and encourage each other in making beautiful music.  There will be an icebreaker at the beginning and another game or two at the end, time allowing, for more social interaction and theory review.  This class is optional and payment of $7 is required one month in advance.  Sign up now under the “registration tab”!

The goals of the master class will be:

• To provide a low-pressure performance opportunity in addition to recitals
• To promote critical thinking and assessment skills as an audience member
• To provide a positive and supportive atmosphere where students can develop skills to overcome performance anxiety
• To facilitate student interaction and socialization with other students their age who hold the common interest of playing piano.
• To reinforce theory, vocabulary and technique previously presented in private lessons
